Mr Siyanda Mabutho Dominic Manqele, a UNIZULU alumnus, is having a second spell as a UNIZULU employee. Siyanda has recently re-joined the University of Zululand as a manager I Research Ethics and postgraduate studies. Siyanda Manqele was born in Hlabisa in October 1989. He started his primary education at Malusi Omuhle Catholic school in Hlabisa and moved Prince Dabulamanzi Primary school in Ulundi. He matriculated in 2006 at Mahlabathini High school. He started his tertiary education at UNIZULU in 2007 in the Faculty of Arts, where he enrolled for a degree in Information Science. On graduating, Siyanda pursued post graduate studies and qualified in 2010 for an honour’s degree in Information Science.

His interest in politics and matters cultural, has seen him been drawn into the discipline of Research Ethics and to date he has published three peer reviewed journals on research ethics. Siyanda association with UNIZULU dates to his late father, who had worked at UNIZULU in the Protective Division and later as a driver in the university’s transport division. Siyanda feels that the university offers several opportunities and those who take these, emerge successful. UNIZULU alumni office is proud that Siyanda has chosen to come and plough back at the University of Zululand.
