New SRC Administration Inducted and Ready to Hit the Ground Running
“Remember why you came here. Remember that at the end of the day, you are still students, and do not forget what you left home to achieve.” These were the wise words of Zakhele Gumede, the Deputy Registrar, as he addressed the Student Representative Council (SRC) representatives during their recent induction ceremony.
The induction was held at the University of Zululand’s (UNIZULU) KwaDlangezwa Campus. According to Nontokozo Mnisi, the student governance and development officer who organised the ceremony, the aim of the induction was to welcome and introduce newly elected SRC members to their roles and responsibilities.
The Deputy Registrar’s reminder to the SRC members was a timely one as they prepared to embark on their new roles. It served as a poignant reminder that, despite their new responsibilities, they are still students, and their primary focus should not stary from their academic pursuits.
Dean of Students Teboho Ncokazi also graced the ceremony to extend words of encouragement and support to the new SRC members. His presence was a testament to the University’s commitment to student leadership and development.
