FCAL’s Dean’s Excellence Awards 2022

In line with the University’s Strategic goal 3 : To foster critical and transformative pedagogies for teaching and learning by Tracking and monitoring of student performance to improve student success , the faculty of Commerce, Administration and Law at the University of Zululand hosted a Dean’s Excellence Awards 2022. This was in recognition of the students who have excelled academically in the year 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In her welcome address, the Dean of the faculty Professor Lorrain Greyling, said that  Dean’s excellence Awards is the  ceremony hosted to recognises the best students based on their  consistent academic excellence weighted average. She   congratulated all the awardees. In her welcome address she said the best way to predict your future is to create your own future.  “ I am so proud to have invited our top students today to receive these awards. These students have outdone themselves. It was difficult to decide .The decision to award was  based on  an above-average academic performance I just want to congratulate the students because truly they have worked hard  .” said Prof Greyling.

The UNIZULU Registrar Mr Deochund Mothilall gave the message of encouragement. He said that he was excited and grateful to deliver words of encouragement .He  congratulated the awardees  on their outstanding results , “ I am so chuffed to be here, today’s event is the validation of your dedication and hard work. I wish to encourage you that take everything that you have and cherish it..” said the Registrar .

There were inspiring and motivational stories from the Deputy Dean teaching and Learning Prof Nana Magigaba Vezi, Dr Bongumusa Makhoba, Talent Zungu and Zikhali. Each one sharing their journey how things were never easy.

The awards were presented by the Dean of the Faculty Prof Greyling and the Registrar .After that there were festivities, networking and the dance floor was open.
