The primary role of the QAO is to facilitate internal and external quality processes, such as programme accreditation and departmental and module reviews, to assure the university community and stakeholders that UNIZULU meets the standards and criteria that define higher education provision. Additionally, the QAO’s responsibilities encompass quality enhancement activities such as self-evaluation and peer reviews. Through these processes, the university undergoes self-assessment to identify and raise awareness of its strengths and areas for development and enhancement.
Our work is also guided and aligned to national legislative frameworks like the Quality Assurance Framework for higher education
To be a valuable resource in providing administrative and substantive leadership, guidance and support for quality assurance at all levels of the university.
To ensure the highest quality learning, teaching, curricula, research and administration in the university through the development, implementation and continuous improvement of quality, in the university, and to ensure that the highest quality systems and procedures are available to achieve this
Formulating/developing strategies, policies, systems, procedures and practices for the university’s academic quality assurance
Promoting and implementing quality-related strategic developments within sustainable quality assurance frameworks and procedures and in accordance with the university vision and strategic planning;
Promoting the culture of academic quality within the university
Ensuring that UNIZULU provides academic programmes of the highest possible standards through evaluations, reviews and benchmarking with other universities nationally and internationally
