UNIZULU Hosts Successful Zulu Language Workshop in Collaboration with Howard University
The University of Zululand (UNIZULU) had the privilege of hosting a Zulu language workshop in partnership with Howard University’s Zulu in South Africa Study Abroad programme (HUZISA).
The event was facilitated by Dr Gladness Bongephiwe Myeni, an academic in UNIZULU’s Department of African Languages and Culture. A renowned expert in the Zulu language field, Dr Myeni was specially selected by Howard University to lead the workshop. “This partnership between our universities is a testament to the power of collaboration in promoting cultural exchange and understanding. Language is the key to unlocking a culture’s secrets and I’m thrilled to share the beauty of isiZulu,” Dr Myeni said.
The HUZISA programme is an annual initiative that brings students from international universities to South Africa to immerse themselves in the IsiZulu language and culture. This year, UNIZULU was honoured to be chosen as the host institution for the programme.
