Unwavering celebrating the 2024 Dean’s Excellence Awards in Humanities & Social Sciences

The University of Zululand’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was pleased to host the Dean’s Excellence Awards, which honour exceptional student accomplishments.  The ceremony took place on Wednesday,16 October 2024 at Bon Hotel Empangeni. The honoured students who had gone above and beyond in their academic endeavours were gifted with awards for their dedication, diligence, resilience, and academic excellence. The occasion demonstrated the faculty’s dedication to encouraging a climate of academic success and perseverance among its pupils.

The congratulatory message was given by Dr Bishop Thandeka Ngema, a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, she encouraged students that they need to have courage to succeed, she urged them to have courage in life, and in their academics, she continued to say  that they need to focus more on their strengths, added that you need to invest in everything you do in life because you cannot withdraw what you didn’t invest in and that group work is victory, you need to be a destiny helper to others, add value to their lives.

“Courage is inspired by commitment, as you were committed in your university work, you are also expected to inspire others through your commitment,” she said.
