UNIZULU Statement on Walk-Ins

The University of Zululand has a limited number of 3900 spaces available for first-time entering students (FTENS). The University has already issued offers to fill these spaces. We will not be accepting walk-in candidates as per the instruction of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). All applicants must have applied through the Central Applications Office (CAO).

Additional spaces for study will only become available should a student refuse to take up an offer to study.

Applicants who applied via the CAO must carefully consider the below table which explains the application process statutes:

Application Descriptors

Description Meaning Action
Conditional Offer The University made an offer subject to your final NSC results. The offer may be converted to a firm offer should your NSC results be satisfactory or your offer may be withdrawn if your NSC results are not satisfactory. Do not attend the University.

The University will inform you whether your offer will be converted to a firm/full offer or rejected via CAO.

If your offer was converted, you may attend the University to collect your official offer letter.

Firm/Full Offer A space was reserved for you and you may register. You should attend to register on the day as advertised.
Waiting decision No offer has been made and you may still be considered should spaces open up at the University.

Do not attend the University.

The University will inform you whether   you will be given an offer depending on the available spaces after the first week of registration.

Regret/Reject You did not meet the requirements to study at the University. Do not attend the University.

You can re-apply through the CAO for 2019 admission or via the CACH process through the Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) to be considered by other institutions.
