UNIZULU celebrates another year of excellence in academia

The University of Zululand (UNIZULU) will graduate approximately 4200 students across its four faculties during the Graduation Ceremonies taking place on 12-16 May 2014.  The University leadership and Executive management will officiate over this important academic ceremony.

A graduation ceremony is an important milestone and celebration in the life a student. In celebrating their achievements and success, students will receive qualifications ranging from a certificate to a doctoral degree.

The five-day Graduation Ceremony of nine sessions, held at KwaDlangezwa Campus in the King Bhekuzulu Hall, will celebrate the success and achievement of its students in the Faculties: Arts; Commerce, Administration and Law Education; Education and Science and Agriculture.

Esteemed speakers from different fields in academia, industry and government will add to the pomp and ceremony with keynote motivational addresses at each session.  Some of the speakers include Advocate Tshililo Michael Masutha, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr Desmond Golding HOD for KZN Department of Economic Development and Tourism; Ms Lindiwe Rakharebe,  Regional Executive of ABSA in KZN; Mr Mahlubi Mabizela, Chief Director: Higher Education Policy and Development Support in the Department of Higher Education and Training; Professor Jeffrey E. Ramsdell, the Director of Energy Center, at Appalachian State University in the US; Professor Lulama Makhubela, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies at Tshwane University of Technology;  Professor Donal McCracken, Senior professor in the Centre for Media and Communications, and the acting College of Humanities Dean of Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal; and Professor Mabel Khayisia Minishi-Majanja, Professor in the Department of Information Science and Director of the School of Arts in the College of Human Sciences at the University of South Africa.

The ceremony will also be attended by local industry and community stakeholders, government and local municipal officials and members of the private and corporate sector.

The conferment of certificates, diplomas, bachelor, masters and doctorate degrees will be held over nine sessions as follows:
