THE Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education (SITFE) has sponsored eight University of Zululand’s students with a full bursary which covers all the costs.
Three of the students – Sphamandla Sengwayo, Jabulani Mthembu and Zanele Masinga – were final year students and at a function were presented with laptops to assist them with their academic and research work.
The presentation was made on behalf of SITFE by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fikile NM Mazibuko, who thanked the sponsors on behalf of the university. “This should encourage every student to work hard so that they can receive nice things like you have today,” she said.
Sengwayo said: “I’m really humbled by receiving a laptop from SITFE which will assist me with my studies.”
The other five beneficiaries of the sponsorship also attended the presentation.
