Vision

The Department of Agriculture will be a centre of excellence in low external input sustainable agriculture in sub-tropical areas of South Africa through education, research and outreach.

Mission

To produce professionally recognized graduates focussed on sustainable and integrated agriculture and agricultural development

To produce relevant information on agriculture and agricultural development in sub-tropical conditions, for use by the agricultural scientific community, farmers, the education sector, and agribusiness in private and public sectors to produce sustainable needs-based technology.
