UNIZULU in partnership with Higher Education South Africa (HESA) has launched the Scented Condom Distribution Campaign at the Student Centre, KwaDlangezwa Campus. Speaking at the event Dr Kenneth Netshiombo, acting Dean of Students said: “I love this initiative and I am happy that the University is taking part in such a campaign that helps create awareness around the HIV pandemic. This life saving initiative will encourage everyone to become ambassadors of healthy living.” Thulani Hleza from the Higher Education and Training HIV/AIDS Programme (HEAIDS) said they were launching the new Choice Scented Condom in a fun and interactive way that will get the attention of the students. “The aim is to promote healthy living, so that HIV rates can decrease,” he said. Bandile Mahlaba, second year Environmental Planning student said there’s a high rate of HIV in this province and feels that this campaign is much needed to alleviate this problem.Besides launching the condoms, the following services were rendered; reproductive Health (all family planning methods), health education, HIV Counselling and Testing
