THE University of Zululand (UNIZULU) recently celebrated Recreation Day with different games which were played during the day.
Head of UNIZULU’s Department of Recreation and Tourism, Prof Thandi Nzama said the aim was to bridge a gap between the university and the community. She said there were teams from the Mkhwanazi community, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and the tourism department.
The South African Students Congress (SASCO) chairman, Jeff Nkosi said the day was important for all tourism students as they also got to know one another. He said recreation was important and the Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula is currently emphasising the importance of recreation at school level. He said through sport people learn to be disciplined and tolerant of others.
