Prof. Nzima matriculated from Zicole Senior Secondary School, he holds a BEd Honours from UNISA, BA in English and Psychology, University Education Diploma, BA Honours in Psychology, MA in Clinical Psychology and PhD in Philosophy majoring in Community Psychology from UNIZULU.
His career began as an educator, and whilst employed by the Department of Education he serviced Gordon Memorial School, Qhamuka and St Augustine High Schools. Prof. Nzima later joined UNIZULU as a lecturer and furthered his academic advancement within the field of psychology.
As a qualified teacher and clinical psychologist, Prof. Nzima has experience in psychometric evaluation, psychotherapy, consultations in a multi-disciplinary team context, forensic work and supervision of intern psychologists. To date, he has supervised 32 postgraduate students who have completed their degrees and is currently supervising six and co-supervising eight students. He is a published researcher and continues to contribute to academic and industry advancement within his field.
Prof. Nzima is a member of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Psychological Society of South Africa, South African Qualifications Authority and HPCSA Standards Generating Body.
