Professor Bonke Dumisa


Prof. Dumisa holds a LLB Degree from UNIZULU, BCom Degree from National University of Lesotho, Diploma in Personnel Management from Union Correspondence College, Business Studies Certificate from National University of Lesotho, Diploma in Credit Management from Union Correspondence College, MBA from Bentley College, BCom Honours from UNISA, MSc in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from University of London and PhD in Business Administration from UDW. In addition, he is admitted as an Advocate to the High Courts in South Africa and Lesotho, he completed a six-month Practical Legal Training through the Law Society of South Africa and a year’s pupilage with the Society of Advocates in KZN.

His former positions include lecturing, Professor and Director at UKZN and University of Durban-Westville’s School of Management. He is the former Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industries CEO, Economic Advisor to the KZN Premier, Prefcor Group Training Manager, Unilever Trade Marketing Assistant Manager (Unifoods), Economics and Statistics Assistant at Unilever SA Headquarters.

He has served in various capacities on several professional bodies including the Natal Sharks Board, Consumer Affairs Committee, Professional Board for Radiography and Clinical Technology within the Health Professions Council of SA and KZN Rental Housing Tribunal. Prof. Dumisa is Chairman of Dumisa Investments, National Consumer Tribunal Deputy Chairman, Commissioner on the KZN Provincial Planning Commission, Independent Communications Authority of SA and Council for Medical Schemes member.
