Mr Cyril Vuyani Gamede


Mr Gamede holds a MBA from UCT’s Graduate School of Business, a Certificate in Corporate Governance and an Advanced Diploma in Labour Law from Rand Afrikaans University and Institute of Directors (UJ), Department of Labour Government Certificate of Competency: (Factories-Mechanical), MSc in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and BSc Mechanical Engineering from UCT.

His former employment includes Managing Director at K2S Consulting; Operations Director at African Explosives Limited; Director of Operations at Umgeni Water; Facilitating Manager: Packaging Hall at South African Breweries; Lever Brothers: Packaging Manager, Section Engineer, Projects and Factory Drawing Office Manager, Projects Engineer, Assistant Services Engineer, Assistant Maintenance Engineer: Soaps Factory.

Mr Gamede is a registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and is a member of the ECSA Presidential Advisory Committee. His professional affiliation includes the Water Institute of South Africa and the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering.

His professional development includes several short courses on international management and business development, engineering operations, industrial relations, international site visits, labour law best practices and technical development.

His former engagements include Chairman of the African Explosives Social Investment Committee, Candidate Officer and Captain of the 19 Field Engineer Regiment, South African Engineer Corps, SANDF, South African Academy of Engineering fellow, President of the National Society of Black Engineers and member of the Syllabus Advisory Board of APESMA Deaken University MBA (Technology Management). He has also held several executive and non-executive directorship positions within the private and corporate sector.
