Judge Constance Mocumie


Judge Mocumie holds a B Juris Degree from UNIZULU, LLB from University of the North West and Masters in Family Law from UNISA.

Her experience includes that of Public Prosecutor, Magistrate and Lecturer in Criminal and Family Law at the Department of Justice, Justice College, Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa, Acting Judge of the High Court Northern Cape, North West and Free State, Judge of the Free State High Court and Acting Judge of the Labour Appeal Court.

In improving her service to the judiciary and theDepartment of Justice, Judge Mocumie has undergone several skills training and development courses, workshops and seminars on prosecution, managing justice administration, law, race and gender, magistrates making a difference, judicial skills, social context and leadership, victims charter, child law for judicial officers and equality courts.

Judge Mocumie belongs to 10 professional associations, in which she holds leadership roles as chairperson, deputy and national secretariat, provincial co-ordinator, board member, deputy president and president. She has attended several national and international conferences and has published on several aspects of South African and international law.
