  • Vice Chancellor’s visit to a number of UNIZULU’s partner institutions in the United States of America. The objective was to evaluate the existing partnerships and to advocate for new partnerships in line with the University’s goals. The visit succeeded on both counts. After her return various academics followed up on the strong links the visit had established. 
  • visit by six Jackson State University (JSU) academics in May 2012 to promote the Science, Technology, Education and Mathematics (STEM) Project was a highlight 
  • annual visits by the Pedagogy of Action (POA) group under Dr Nesha Haniff from the University of Michigan to work with UNIZULU’s Peer Educators to educate communities about HIV and AIDS

  • annual visits by the Foreign Languages and Area Studies (FLAS) American students to further their understanding of IsiZulu Language and Culture between September and December. Students are sponsored by the American Council for International Development  
  • hosting of the Fulbright-Hays Zulu Group Project Abroad (GPA) and the African Languages Initiative (AFLI) American students for IsiZulu Language and Cultural Immersion Course: June -August 2013 under the leadership of Dr Nonhlanhla Mbeje.   
  • Study Abroad and academic visits to various academic departments, i.e. Dr Susan Mills brings 15 Music students from Appalachian State University for two weeks to the Creative Arts Department, UNIZULU Choir and community choirs in May-June 2013
