CHEMISTRY AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

Purpose of the programme
This module is an interface of chemistry and computer science. It is generally aimed at promoting modelling of materials. It equips students with chemistry experience and how that experience could be monitored or manipulated using computer programs.

Employment opportunities
The scope of employment for the program include Analytical chemist, Biomedical scientist, Healthcare scientist, Clinical research associate, Forensic scientist, Physician associate, Research scientist, Scientific laboratory technician. Companies such as Sasol and CSIR are typical employers in the field

Entrepreneurial opportunities
There are lot of opportunities including computational chemist and material simulationist.
Vertical articulation for further / higher degree studies where applicable
After completing the degree a student has an opportunity to pursue post graduate either in chemistry or computer up PhD, and continue with research.
