Bookseller’s exhibition

UNIZULU’s Library hosted a local bookseller’s academic exhibition on 24 July at the Library’s short loans arena at KwaDlangezwa Campus. The exhibition formed part of the Library’s mission to ensure publications available to students are up to date and course specific.

Accredited booksellers on the University database were invited to exhibit the latest publications available and relevant to courses offered at the institution.  Vuga Books, Best Books, The Complete Bookshop, RC Bookshop Sellers, Rainbow Academic Bookshop and Stationers participated in the event with a wide variety of books across different fields. Academic staff members were invited to view books on exhibition and recommended latest editions and new books to be incorporated into the library’s catalogue that are in keeping with the  theoretical and practical frameworks of their respective courses. Books recommended by staff were checked against the library’s catalogue for the number of books, editions and later updated.

Law lecturer, Tersia Oosthuizen supported the initiative and said it kept students focused and enabled them to access information from the latest editions of scholarly works. She said: “I am very pleased that we have this opportunity at UNIZULU because it keeps our teaching, learning and research competitive.”
