For New and First Year Students

On 15 January 2008: Report to the Chief Faculty Officer in the King Bhekuzulu Hall from 08:30 to 16:00

Your initial payment must have been paid in at ABSA Bank. The Faculty Officer will provide you with proof of financial registration which must be produced for the issuing of your identity card. The card will allow you access to meals, computer laboratory and residences on campus. If you require accommodation, report to the Wardens.


Meals: If, at registration, you have failed to indicate that meals will be required, these can be purchased by uploading the amount that you wish to spend on meals at the Protective Services Department. Students will not be granted credit facilities for meals but are required to cash load the meal uploading system in order to allow them to obtain meal vouchers.
Report for orientation, which is compulsory for all first year students. This programme runs from Wednesday, 09 January to Monday, 11 January 2008.


First Years: During the period 15 - 16 January 2008, report for academic registration at respective faculties.

Seniors: During the period 17 - 25 January 2008, report for academic registration at respective faculties



Registration Dates : Faculty of Arts - 17-18 Jan 2008

: Faculty of Science - 21-22 Jan 2008

: Faculty of Education - 23-24 Jan 2008

: Faculty of Commerce, Administration & Law- 25 Jan 2008


Lectures commence (start of first term) on the 29 January 2008.
Pay the prescribed minimum fee as indicated in your invitation letter.


Ensure that you follow the steps set out above to finalise your registration. If you are not sure of any aspect, do not hesitate to enquire from the Faculty Officer (at the faculties). If nobody assists, you, consult the Admissions Officer (Student Affairs) in Office 30 of the J.P. Bruwer Building.
